The cyanide distillation kit with scrubber for sulfide removal eliminates interfering substances in quantitative cyanide analysis. HCN is released from cyanide complexes via reflux-distillation operation and is absorbed in a scrubber containing a sodium hydroxide solution. The cyanide ion in the absorbing solution is then determined by volumetric titration or colorimetrically by spectrophotometry.

The Cyanide Distillation Kit assists the user in conforming to procedures described by ASTM D 2036-75 (Method A), Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater (Method 412), and USEPA Methods of Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastewater (335.2).
